Swami and Debadutta Singh Deo, head of the company's Odisha subsidiary, said the group would invest 300 billion rupees (25.86 billion yuan) in the first phase, the report said. According to SRAM & MRAM Group, the semiconductor manufacturing unit will be launched within three months after obtaining the permits from all government departments.

At the same time, the Odisha state government obtained investment commitments from a large number of foreign manufacturers at the MIO secret meeting, and signed a number of memorandums of understanding in the electronics and IT fields, including Intel, GlobalFoundries, IBM, Oracle, JupiterSolar, Deloitte, HappiestMinds , AdaniGroup, E and Aaron Capital, etc.

It is reported that India has a huge integrated circuit application market. According to data from the Indian Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), the value of the Indian semiconductor component market is expected to reach 32.35 billion US dollars by 2025, with a growth rate of 10.1% between 2018 and 2025. compound annual growth rate. Ashwini Vaishnaw, India's Minister of Electronics and Ination Technology, previously said it would reach $64 billion by 2026.

New semiconductor factories in India

As one of the largest electronics markets in the world, in recent years, India is actively developing the semiconductor industry and has attracted many foreign capitals to set up semiconductor factories. In addition to the UK's SRAM & MRAM Group, it also includes Apple's main foundry Hon Hai, Gao Tower Semiconductor, and Singapore consortium IGSS Ventures.

The latest news is that if India approves in time, the international consortium ISMC will start construction of India's first semiconductor manufacturing fab invested by the Karnataka government in southern India within a few months.

It is reported that ISMC is a joint venture between Abu Dhabi's Next Orbit Ventures and High Tower Semiconductor (acquired by Intel). The fab has a total investment of 3 billion US dollars, and its products are mainly logic chips produced by 65nm process technology. It is reported that the monthly production capacity of the fab is expected to be 40,000 wafers. The initial goal is to produce 65nm process technology, which will be upgraded to 40nm process technology in the future.

Hon Hai and Vedanta, a large Indian multinational group, will invest 1.54 trillion rupees (about 133.983 billion yuan) to build a semiconductor project in Gujarat, the hometown of Indian Prime Minister Modi, for the production of chips and displays. Among them, 945 billion rupees will be used to build a new factory for the production of displays, and another 600 billion rupees will be used for chip-related production, including semiconductor manufacturing, packaging and testing.

Singaporean consortium IGSS Ventures will also invest 256 billion rupees (about 3.25 billion U.S. dollars) in Tamil Nadu, India, to build a semiconductor high-tech park, including a fab. The semiconductor factory will create jobs for 1,500 people, and the ecosystem of Outsourced and Tested Semiconductor (OSATS) facilities built in the park will provide jobs for about 25,000 people.
